The Group’s Health, Safety
and Environment (“HSE”) Management Framework
The Board has overall responsibility
for the safe, healthy and environmentally sound management
of the Group’s operations. Each of the sites
within the three Businesses have teams of specialist
HSE managers who, along with site management teams,
focus on HSE risk management and performance improvement.
Each of the Businesses have HSE policies and management
systems. The Group is making around US$2 billion of
capital investment in new projects at the Tuticorin
smelter, Orissa and Korba, which are supporting improvements
in HSE standards across the Group.
